Again with the song lyrics: Give Me Love by Ed Sheeran

Give me love like her,
’cause lately I’ve been waking up alone,
Paint splattered teardrops on my shirt,
Told you I’d let them go,
And that I’ll fight my corner,
Maybe tonight I’ll call ya,
After my blood turns into alcohol,
No, I just wanna hold ya.

Give a little time to me or burn this out,
We’ll play hide and seek to turn this around,
All I want is the taste that your lips allow,
My, my, my, my, oh give me love (5x)

Give me love like never before,
’cause lately I’ve been craving more,
And it’s been a while but I still feel the same,
Maybe I should let you go,
You know I’ll fight my corner,
And that tonight I’ll call ya,
After my blood is drowning in alcohol,
No I just wanna hold ya.

Give a little time to me or burn this out,
We’ll play hide and seek to turn this around,
All I want is the taste that your lips allow,
My, my, my, my, oh give me love. (5x)

Give a little time to me, or burn this out,
We’ll play hide and seek to turn this around,
All I want is the taste that your lips allow,
My, my, my, my, oh give me love… (on repeat & fade)

Oh, the things I do to procrastinate! This is one of my new favorite songs and, while it might not be completely poetic flat on the page, believe me when I say that this set to music is purely wonderful. Actually, don’t just believe me…go to Youtube and watch the video of him performing. Done. It’s great.

It’s a beautiful song, and he’s got some great lines, you know? “Paint splattered teardrops on my shirt,” “after my blood is drowning in alcohol,” “all I want is the taste that your lips allow…” he’s got nice rhythm, even sans-music. Anyway, I’m a fan.

In other news, exactly 3 weeks until the Ron Pope concert at the Local 506 (wonderful little bar-venue that everyone in NC should know about)! And probably a week or two until I need to have a new, halfway decent story to turn in for Fiction. Oh, the delicious, stressful writer-problems of having two workshop classes!
